Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in pastry preparation and baking
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong physical stamina for standing and manual tasks
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a pastry cook or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment
  • Solid understanding of pastry techniques including mixing, baking, piping, and decorating
  • A genuine love for culinary experiences and a passion for Japanese cuisine
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented with a focus on creating memorable dining experiences
  • Attention to detail and a high standard of presentation

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and production of a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods, following recipes and guidelines established by the Head Pastry Chef or Head Chef
  • Execute precise measurements and techniques to ensure consistency and quality in all pastry creations
  • Prepare and assemble components for plated desserts, including sauces, creams, garnishes, and accompaniments
  • Bake, decorate, and finish pastries and desserts with attention to detail and presentation standards
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry work area
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times
  • Support inventory management and stock control for pastry ingredients
