Job Requirements

  • At least two years of pastry cook experience
  • Culinary pastry degree or related hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to perform basic and intermediate pastry cooking skills
  • Proven guest service experience
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, talk, hear, and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to mechanical parts, extreme cold and heat

Job Qualifications

  • At least two years of previous pastry cook experience
  • Culinary pastry degree or related hotel experience preferred
  • Ability to perform all basic and intermediate pastry cooking skills
  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor

Job Duties

  • Measure and mix ingredients to form dough or batter using electric mixer or by hand
  • Shape dough for cookies, pies, and pastries
  • Place shaped dough portions in greased or floured pans and insert into ovens
  • Adjust drafts or thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperatures
  • Prepare and cook ingredients for pie fillings, puddings, custards, or other desserts
  • Pour filling into pie shells and top with meringue or cream
  • Mix ingredients to make icings
  • Decorate cakes and pastries
  • Blend colors for icings and sugar ornaments
  • Build solid relationship with colleagues
  • Treat colleagues with respect and dignity
  • Deliver passionate and engaging service to guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned and assist in various hotel operations
  • Follow the GUEST service model: greet warmly, use eye and ear contact, establish and anticipate needs, solve and own requests or complaints, thank everyone
