Job Requirements
- Able to perform essential functions safely and successfully consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting quality standards
- ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards
- must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs
- must be able to sit, stand, and squat frequently
- flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a professional bakery, pastry kitchen, or restaurant setting (Italian pastry experience preferred)
- knowledge of bread baking, pastry techniques, and dessert plating
- ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain consistency in product quality
- strong organizational and time-management skills
- team-oriented attitude with a passion for the culinary arts
- culinary or pastry degree or certification is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of house-made breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts according to restaurant recipes and standards
- produce gelato, sorbet, and ice cream
- maintain mise en place and ensure product freshness and quality at all times
- operate and maintain bakery and pastry equipment safely and efficiently
- monitor ingredient inventory, assist with ordering, and minimize food waste
- maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with health and safety regulations
