Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of experience in pastry or bakery roles preferred
- Food Handler Certification (if applicable)
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to health and safety standards
Job Qualifications
- One year of prior experience in the pastry department of a high-volume, full-service restaurant or supportive role is preferred
- Time management and organizational ability required for high quality food production
- Ability to work with minimal direction or supervision to complete assigned tasks
- Possession of Food Handler Certification (if applicable)
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
- Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Prepare all pastry items for the restaurant according to specifications
- Demonstrate, prepare, present and execute each menu item to restaurant standards
- Produce food on a timely basis and be knowledgeable about the menu
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, pastry, cooking, and refrigeration equipment
- Follow departmental policies as well as restaurant rules, regulations and policies set forth in the Employee Handbook and by management
- Report any maintenance or repairs needed to any kitchen equipment
- Provide excellent quality and presentation of all food to the guests
- Prevent the spoiling and contamination of foods by implementing proper sanitation practices and ensuring compliance with policy and health regulations
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities
- Take on responsibilities outside of this job post as needed according to Kimpton’s multi-functional work culture
