Job Requirements

  • Minimum of one year pastry chef experience in a full-service restaurant or equivalent
  • Meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • Provide a clean, well-manicured persona reflecting the restaurant's image
  • Ability to safely transport containers weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for entire shifts
  • Ability to move safely over slick, uneven surfaces and stairs
  • Willingness to work variable and flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work in limited physical space with variable ventilation, smoke, and extreme temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year pastry chef experience in a full-service restaurant or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of pastry preparation and presentation
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency
  • Good communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with kitchen safety and sanitation standards
  • Team player with a professional appearance and positive attitude

Job Duties

  • Perform a daily walk through inventory to prioritize product utilization
  • Identify and communicate inventory and equipment needs to ordering manager
  • Meet daily with executive chef to coordinate and ensure production standards
  • Assist in development and maintenance of pastry recipe books prescribing ingredients, product specifications, and portion sizes
  • Assist in development of dessert menus and items
  • Produce pastries for restaurant and special functions
  • Prepare pastry ingredients according to recipes
  • Prepare pastry items as prescribed
  • Maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation
  • Coordinate proper food storage according to operating procedures
  • Work dessert station on line when necessary
  • Use kitchen equipment as prescribed
  • Safely use knives and utensils for preparation
  • Operate independently if necessary
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area for safety
  • Communicate problems to management immediately
