Job Requirements

  • minimum of 1-year pastry chef experience in full service restaurant or equivalent
  • punctuality in meeting scheduled hours
  • maintain clean and well-groomed appearance
  • safely transport containers up to 30 pounds
  • stand or walk for entire shift
  • work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • perform in limited physical space with variable ventilation, smoke, and extreme temperatures

Job Qualifications

  • ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually
  • provide clean and well-manicured persona reflecting restaurant image

Job Duties

  • perform daily walk-through inventory to prioritize product utilization
  • identify and communicate inventory and equipment needs to ordering manager
  • coordinate with executive chef to ensure production standards
  • assist in development and maintenance of pastry recipe books
  • assist in development of dessert menus and items
  • produce pastries for restaurant and special functions
  • prepare ingredients for pastry recipes
  • prepare pastry items according to prescribed recipes
  • maintain food quality standards including consistency and presentation
  • coordinate proper food storage according to operating procedures
  • work dessert station on line when necessary
  • use equipment as prescribed for menu item preparation
  • safely and efficiently use knives and utensils
  • operate position functions alone if necessary
  • maintain clean and orderly work area for safety
  • communicate problems to management immediately
