Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in high volume or fine dining pastry kitchens
  • Culinary degree from accredited school or university preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to follow recipes and yield guides
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of sanitation and health regulations

Job Duties

  • Plan, prep, set up and prepare quality products in all areas of the pastry and bake shop including pastries, desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, and jams
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment up to Health Department standards
  • Coordinate daily specials and prep sheets with the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef
  • Maintain and abide by state sanitation and health regulations
  • Use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • Comply with all departmental policies and procedures
  • Review assignments and production schedules with chefs
  • Inspect cleanliness and organization of workstations
  • Prepare menu items following recipes and yield guides
  • Assist in monitoring inventory to reduce waste and manage 86’s
  • Minimize waste and maintain food cost controls
  • Transport dirty pots and pans to pot wash station
