Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and/or hotel industry experience preferred
  • Culinary experience required
  • Flexible and long working hours sometimes required
  • Medium physical work involving lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand for entire shift
  • Ability to withstand temperature variations both hot and cold
  • Thorough knowledge of menus and preparation standards
  • Proficiency in key cooking techniques
  • Knowledge of herbs and spices and their proper use

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary experience required
  • Thorough knowledge of menu items and preparation standards
  • Proficiency in cooking techniques such as charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sautéing, braising, roasting, and par-cooking
  • Knowledge of herbs and spices and their proper use

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • Complete necessary food and station preparation prior to restaurant opening
  • Prepare and display buffet food items according to standards
  • Recognize quality standards in fresh vegetables, fish, dairy, and meat products
  • Maintain clean and sanitary environment and follow proper handling, storage, and sanitation protocols
  • Prepare banquet food as per Banquet Event Orders
  • Prepare and service food for Employee Cafeteria
  • Follow standardized recipes for all food preparation
  • Breakdown buffets and kitchen line, storing food and equipment properly
  • Work banquet food station as scheduled
  • Know and operate fire extinguishing equipment
  • Practice safe work habits to prevent injuries
  • Use production charts as per hotel standards
  • Support any kitchen position in need of help
  • Follow Health Department and company regulations on food safety and storage
  • Operate and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment
  • Maintain a 'Clean As You Go' policy
  • Assist in storage and rotation of food items according to procedures
  • Sign keys out and back under supervision as needed
