Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience in high volume or fine dining pastry kitchens
  • Culinary degree from accredited school or university
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills

Job Duties

  • Plan prep and set up quality pastry products including pastries desserts breads ice creams sorbets creams syrups and jams
  • Maintain organization cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment to health department standards
  • Coordinate daily specials and prep sheets with Pastry Chef and Executive Chef
  • Abide by state sanitation and health regulations
  • Use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • Review assignments and business levels with Chefs
  • Inspect cleanliness and organization of work stations and rectify deficiencies
  • Organize prep items to ensure readiness for service
  • Prepare menu items following recipes and yield guides
  • Monitor inventory to minimize waste and maintain food cost control
  • Transport empty dirty pots and pans to pot wash station
