Job Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- fully competent in all aspects of baking and pastry
- minimum of 2 years of experience in a high-volume preparation environment
- flexible to work extended hours including late nights, weekends, and holidays
- able to work in a team environment
- ability to remain on feet for entire length of shift
- ability to lift, move, maneuver up to 50 pounds
- capable of constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions
Job Duties
- Baking cookies, cakes, sponge
- making mousse, custards, meringue
- cooking fruit products
- follow procedures and directions of the Pastry Chef and management
- assist in developing and tasting recipes
- create specialized pastries for catering events and specialized decorating when needed
- assist in baking breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries as per production and catering sheets
- plan production to meet daily requirements
- plate desserts to order and perform pastry station service during breakfast, lunch, or dinner
- check for color coordination and eye appeal using appropriate garnishes
- follow proper serving methods including correct portion sizes
- follow recipes and cooking procedures as directed
- prepare menu board with proper terms for all food items
- break down and clean various stations
- inspect all areas and lock secured areas at shift end
- carry up to 50 pounds
