Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • minimum two years experience in pastry cooking at a 4- or 5-star hotel or restaurant
  • culinary certification preferred
  • ServeSafe certified
  • ability to work 8-12 hour shifts
  • physical ability to lift 55 pounds and endure various physical activities
  • ability to comprehend and follow recipes
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitary standards
  • strong communication skills in English

  • Minimum two years’ experience as a Pastry Cook in a 4- or 5-star hotel or restaurant
  • high school diploma
  • culinary certification preferred
  • ability to perform with attention to detail, speed and accuracy
  • strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work cohesively with a team and minimal supervision
  • ServeSafe certification
  • ability to speak, read and write English
  • physical capability to handle 55 pounds and work extended shifts in demanding conditions

Job Duties

  • Plan, prep, set up and prepare quality products in all pastry areas
  • maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment
  • comply with departmental policies, service procedures and standards
  • prepare and produce dessert menu items following recipes and yield guides
  • lead pastry department under supervision of Pastry Chef/Sous Chef
  • maintain proper storage and minimize waste to achieve food cost targets
  • support and train junior pastry team members
  • disinfect and sanitize work area
  • complete opening and closing duties
  • communicate shortages and excess items to the Pastry Chef
