Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience as a pastry cook
  • Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs continuously
  • Capability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years experience as a pastry cook
  • Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to grasp, lift, and/or carry goods weighing up to 30 lbs on a continuous schedule
  • Ability to work continuously in confined spaces and extreme temperature ranges
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule, or recipe form
  • Practical problem-solving skills in a kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served
  • Understands and complies consistently with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen policies
  • Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
  • Maintains a clean sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, and refrigeration equipment
  • Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly
  • Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods
  • Understands food safety and helps control bacteria growth
  • Closes kitchen properly and follows closing checklist
  • Attends scheduled employee meetings and suggests improvements
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Pastry and Executive Chef
