Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of experience in pastry or baking
- ability to lift and carry goods weighing up to 30 lbs
- ability to stand and work in confined spaces
- ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
- good understanding of food safety and sanitation
- effective communication skills in English

Job Duties
- Prepare pastry items and baked goods as directed by Pastry and Executive Chef
- Decorate cakes and pastries
- Organize high-volume pastry production procedures and meet all deadlines
- Perform food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items
- Maintain quality and consistency of products served
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard sizes and recipes
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up
- Handle, store and rotate all products properly
- Assist in food preparation during off-peak periods
- Understand and apply food safety standards
- Manage shelf life and thaw time of products
- Close kitchen properly and follow closing checklists
- Attend employee meetings and suggest improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned by Pastry and Executive Chef
