Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years baking experience
- 3 years in high volume food and beverage environment
- 3 to 5 years supervisory experience
- Must hold Maricopa County Food Handlers Card or ServSafe certification
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of food cost management software preferred
- Must be knowledgeable in breads, candy, chocolate, pastry, and cakes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills
- Must maintain professional appearance
- Must demonstrate food handling and sanitation skills
- Basic math ability
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must speak, read, and write English
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary degree strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years professional baking experience
- At least 3 years in high-volume food and beverage environment
- 3 to 5 years supervisory experience
- Must possess Maricopa County Food Handlers Card or ServSafe certification
- Basic PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with food cost management software preferred
- Strong knowledge of breads, candy, chocolate, pastry, and cakes
- Effective communication skills
- Positive attitude and professional appearance
- Proper food handling and sanitation skills
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work in a busy, high-volume environment
- Fluent in English
Job Duties
- Ensure all bakeshop equipment is properly maintained and operational
- Coordinate with support departments for acquisition of goods and services
- Maintain food costs within budgetary constraints
- Ensure all products meet departmental appearance and quality standards
- Provide support to kitchen staff for operational efficiency
- Follow all applicable safety procedures for kitchen and food service areas
- Prepare staff work schedules and approve daily payroll
- Write pastry menus for casino functions and collaborate with restaurant and banquet chefs
- Order and verify stock deliveries for the bakeshop
- Maintain accurate recipe books and complete recipe cards
- Estimate food costs and assist in cost control records
- Prepare supply cost reports for administration
- Review finished products before dispatch
- Troubleshoot bakeshop operational issues
- Prepare special-order and promotional items
- Create special amenities such as chocolate and sugar showpieces
- Set up special pastry displays for banquets and events
- Maintain and instruct personnel on safety and health standards
- Hire and train staff consistent with Tribal and Indian Preference guidelines
