Job Requirements
- Experience in pastry arts, preferably in an upscale and high-volume environment
- Knowledge of traditional pastry techniques such as lamination, sugar work, and ice cream making
- Skills in bread baking including mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking breads and crackers
- Ability to lead and mentor kitchen staff effectively
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and consistency
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with culinary leadership and savory teams
Job Qualifications
- Pastry experience in an upscale, high-volume restaurant
- Strong knowledge of traditional pastry fundamentals including lamination, sugar work, and ice cream production
- Bread baking skills including mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking a variety of breads and crackers
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and adept at multitasking
- Professionalism, leadership, and a team-first mindset
Job Duties
- Lead the pastry program with creativity, discipline, and a focus on excellence
- Collaborate on menu development with ownership and the culinary leadership team
- Manage daily bread, pastry, and dessert production with attention to quality and presentation
- Train and mentor staff in traditional and modern pastry techniques
- Maintain consistency in execution, cleanliness, and organization
- Partner with the savory team to ensure balance and cohesion across the entire menu
