Job Requirements

  • Experience as a pastry chef for at least 3 years in a similar caliber property
  • AAS pastry degree or completion of ACF certified apprenticeship program
  • Serve Safe certification
  • understanding of restaurant room service bar and banquet procedures
  • effective decision-making and communication skills
  • knowledge of safety standards OSHA EPA ADA and related regulations
  • ability to manage budgets and forecasts
  • availability to work flexible hours including high demand periods

Job Qualifications

  • AAS pastry degree or ACF certified apprenticeship program
  • Serve Safe certified
  • 3 years experience as a pastry chef in a comparable property
  • knowledge of restaurant room service bar and banquet procedures
  • strong customer and associate relation skills
  • knowledge of hotel operations related to kitchen
  • good presentation communication and organizational skills
  • effective conflict and change management skills
  • training and facilitator skills
  • knowledge of purchasing inventory controls and safety regulations
  • experience with financial management including P&L statements budgeting forecasting and scheduling

Job Duties

  • Hire train and mentor pastry associates
  • supervise pastry kitchen daily operations
  • oversee pastry item preparation and production
  • develop pastry items and menus with executive chefs
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • coordinate specialty cake creation and service with catering and sales teams
  • ensure compliance with safety and loss prevention policies
