Job Requirements

  • at least four years of proven experience in a pastry position within a fast-paced kitchen
  • physically able to meet the demands of working in a kitchen environment
  • knowledge of pastry arts and ingredients
  • valid driver's license

Job Duties

  • order ingredients and supplies for the bakery in accordance with SCAD standards
  • work closely with Gryphon staff and leadership on daily operations
  • collaborate with general manager and chef de cuisine on catering events
  • develop and modify dessert menus
  • create and prepare all pastries
  • organize ingredients in the kitchen
  • stay current on pastry arts and ingredients
  • train and manage full-time bakery staff
  • follow all Department of Health standards to keep the kitchen clean at all times
  • perform various administrative tasks including completion of annual evaluations, timesheets, inventory orders, and inventory management
