Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum 3 years of experience as a pastry chef or in a related culinary role
- strong knowledge of baking techniques and pastry preparation
- proven ability to supervise and lead a team
- understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
- excellent organizational skills
- ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items
- strong attention to detail and quality control
Job Qualifications
- Experience in pastry chef or similar role in luxury hotel or fine dining environment
- culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- strong leadership and team management skills
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Supervise the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
- ensure recipes and standards are followed, food and labor costs are controlled, the appropriate quantity is prepared and safety standards and regulations are followed
- monitor and control the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry shop and equipment
- supervise hourly pastry shop employees including interviewing, scheduling, training, developing, coaching and counseling
- create, plan and implement seasonal menu changes
- order and maintain pastry shop supplies at par levels
- perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- ensure excellent service and hospitality is provided for the pastry team, guests, community, vendors
- handle and execute desserts and pastries with a team for plated service restaurants and banquets
- educate dining room service staff on all aspects of pastry offerings
- ensure services are expedited effectively
- hold team accountable to setup and breakdown of pastry prep and stations
- maintain positive relationships with the team and dining room leaders
- hold team accountable to following all recipes and presentation specifics
- accountable for ordering and maintaining appropriate product levels
- track and report any food waste and correct team as needed
- ensure adherence to DOH safety and sanitation standards
- maintain and properly use kitchen equipment
- prepare all food according to Food Handlers Guidelines
- ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of products
- provide continuous training and leadership to team members
