Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of pastry chef experience in a luxury or upscale hospitality environment
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred
- Proven leadership experience managing kitchen staff
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties
- Supervise the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
- Ensure recipes and standards are followed
- control food and labor costs
- prepare appropriate quantities
- Follow safety standards and regulations
- Monitor and maintain the sanitation of the pastry shop and equipment
- Supervise hourly pastry shop employees including interviewing, scheduling, training, coaching and performance reviews
- Create, plan and implement seasonal menu changes
- Order and maintain pastry shop supplies at par levels
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
- Provide excellent service and hospitality for the pastry team, guests, community and vendors
- Handle and execute desserts and pastries for plated service restaurants and banquets
- Educate dining room service staff on pastry offerings
- Expedite services effectively
- Hold team accountable for setup and breakdown of pastry prep stations
- Maintain positive working relationships with team and dining room leaders
- Ensure adherence to recipes and presentation specifics
- Manage ordering and maintenance of product inventory
- Track and report food waste
- Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain and properly use kitchen equipment
- Prepare food according to Food Handler Guidelines
- Properly handle, store and rotate all products
- Train and develop team members
- Provide continuous leadership and growth opportunities
