Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a supervisory pastry chef role
- Knowledge of food safety standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical ability to stand and work for extended periods
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Proven experience as a pastry chef in a high-volume kitchen
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to create and execute seasonal menus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with inventory management and cost control
- Ability to train and develop culinary staff
- Adaptability and problem-solving skills
Job Duties
- Supervise the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
- ensure recipes and standards are followed, food and labor costs are controlled
- monitor and maintain sanitation of the pastry shop and equipment
- supervise, train and schedule pastry shop employees
- create, plan and implement seasonal menu changes
- order and maintain pastry shop supplies
- ensure excellent service and hospitality
- handle and execute desserts and pastries for plated service and banquets
- educate dining room service staff on pastry offerings
- expedite services effectively
- hold team accountable to kitchen guidelines
- maintain positive working relationships with team and dining room leaders
- ensure adherence to recipe and presentation specifics
- manage ordering and stock levels of pastry products
- track and report food waste
- ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- maintain kitchen equipment properly
- prepare food according to food handlers guidelines
- ensure proper handling, storage and rotation of all products
- provide continuous team training and leadership
