Job Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of three years professional baking experience
- one year of supervisory experience
- proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- basic math skills
- strong customer service skills
- ability to work well in a team environment
- proficiency in heating, cooling, reheating and sanitation procedures
- availability to work variable shifts including graveyard and overtime as necessary
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- associate's degree in baking and pastry arts or related field preferred
- minimum of three years previous professional baking experience
- at least one year of supervisory experience
- proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- basic math skills
- strong customer service skills
- ability to work well in a team environment
- proficiency in heating, cooling, reheating, and sanitation procedures
- knowledge in yeast doughs, quick breads, pastry doughs, cookie, pie and cake batters and fillings, custards, creams and mousses, icing, glazes and sauces, frozen desserts, plated desserts, wedding and specialty cake decorations, conversions, calculations and recipe costing
Job Duties
- Supervise and contribute to daily bakery production, set up, and tear down
- ensure consistently high-quality production of all bakery items
- train new employees in all aspects of the pastry kitchen
- ensure strict adherence to sanitation and cleanliness guidelines
- work closely with all chefs to improve employee morale and conduct employee discipline fairly and consistently
- assist chefs in maintaining food and labor cost
- work with chefs to create and implement new menus and specials
- ensure proper quantities of stock are ordered to allow for production while limiting waste
- perform other projects and duties as assigned
