Job Requirements
- Prior experience in preparing daily pastry needs for catered events
- Ability to supervise and manage kitchen or pastry staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to work full time or part time schedules, including occasional weekends
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience in preparing daily pastry needs for catered events
- Experience supervising a kitchen or pastry team
- Strong knowledge of pastry, dessert and bakery production techniques
- Ability to manage food costs and inventory
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Creative with a passion for developing new pastry items
Job Duties
- Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
- Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs
- Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
- Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets or exceeds federal, state and corporate standards and regulations
- Supervises hourly kitchen/pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate
- Helps plan and implement seasonal menus
- Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels
