Job Requirements
- Be 18 years or older
- Previous baking/pastry making experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen preferred
- Foodservice experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and various baking techniques
- Ability to follow recipes and produce consistent results
- Safe food handling practices
- Safe knife/sharp handling skills
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, or holidays
- Willingness to learn and grow
- Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card
- ServSafe certification and State Food Handlers Card
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods for daily service and catered events
- Check daily function sheets and prepare items accordingly
- Possess basic knife skills
- Follow standardized recipes and production schedules to meet demand and minimize waste
- Decorate and present baked goods attractively in accordance with client and brand standards
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times, adjusting as necessary for quality outcomes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery station, including equipment, tools, and storage areas
- Ensure all baked items meet quality, portion, and presentation standards
- Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety policies (e.g., HACCP, allergen management)
- Assist in inventory management, including receiving and storing bakery supplies and ingredients
- Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth food service operations
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments
- Participate in menu development and seasonal/holiday item planning
- May assist by performing ware washer or other kitchen duties as needed
- Perform side-work and any other opening or closing duties as required
- Ensure that production stations are clean and maintained throughout shift
- Alert management of any service and/or safety issues
- Make appropriate service recovery gestures according to established guidelines to ensure total guest satisfaction
- Other duties as assigned
