Job Requirements

  • minimum 7 years of experience in pastry in well-established restaurants or full-service hotels
  • culinary certificate or degree preferred
  • flexible working hours subject to business demands
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to bend, reach, stoop, and stretch

  • proficiency in banquet event order management
  • excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
  • ability to plan and execute food tastings
  • experience in inventory and cost control

Job Duties

  • manage all ordering and scheduling for pastry productions
  • execute all pastry food preparations
  • coordinate pastry catering and banquet needs for Downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica locations
  • master and oversee banquet event orders for all events
  • manage daily operations of the pastry kitchen team
  • supervise, train, and evaluate pastry department staff
  • maintain clear verbal and written communication with the culinary team
  • ensure all equipment is clean, operational, and properly documented
  • update and communicate recipes, menu specifications, and plating standards
  • guarantee menu items are prepared according to Jonathan Club standards
  • maximize member satisfaction through quality control and cost management
  • plan and execute food tastings with presentations and documentation
  • ensure compliance with applicable laws and food safety regulations
  • monitor team performance and timely completion of procedures
  • identify development needs and mentor pastry culinary staff
  • uphold kitchen guidelines and serve as a role model
  • perform additional duties as assigned
