Job Requirements

  • Degree or certification in culinary arts pastry arts or related field preferred
  • Additional certifications in food safety and sanitation may be required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items up to 50 lbs
  • Dexterity for handling delicate ingredients and pastry tools
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Proven experience in pastry kitchen supervision
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen sanitation
  • Strong leadership and team management skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a pastry chef or similar supervisory pastry role preferably in hotel or high-end culinary setting
  • In-depth knowledge of baking techniques pastry decoration and dessert preparation
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to train and motivate team
  • Excellent organizational skills handling multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards and sanitation practices
  • Creativity and passion for pastry arts
  • Good communication skills and ability to interact with kitchen staff and hotel departments
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Supervise pastry team including bakers and pastry chefs ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standards
  • Assist in designing and creating innovative and seasonal pastry menus
  • Ensure all pastries meet high quality taste and presentation standards
  • Monitor inventory levels order ingredients and ensure proper storage
  • Provide on-the-job training and encourage skill development among pastry staff
  • Enforce food safety health and hygiene regulations in accordance with policies
  • Help monitor and control food costs wastage and budget of pastry department
  • Collaborate with executive chef sous chefs and kitchen staff to coordinate menu offerings and special requests
  • Address guest pastry requests dietary restrictions and concerns promptly
  • Oversee pastry production for special events banquets and large-scale functions
  • Stay updated with pastry trends techniques and equipment incorporating new ideas
