Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of bakery experience preferred
- current Food Handler's Permit
- ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
- ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday
- strong communication skills
- ability to follow recipes and production sheets
- ability to maintain clean and sanitized work environment
- capable of working efficiently under fast-paced conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- one year of bakery experience preferred
- current Food Handler's Permit
- experience preparing pastries quickly and efficiently with quality professional results
- ability to read and follow a recipe
- basic math skills used to half or double recipes
- knowledge of mixing, cooking, baking, and assembling procedures and times for pastries
- ability to interpret policies and procedures
- excellent organization and planning skills
- solid communication skills including verbal and listening skills
- ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success and team success
- ability to make logical, significant decisions using general recognized skills and techniques
- integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed with a passion for Harmons’ mission
- continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, forward focused, and consistent
Job Duties
- Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
- ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
- responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the bakery
- confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
- ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
- delivers excellent customer service to all customers
- follows production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons' pastries
- ensures the correct amount of ingredients and supplies are in stock
- prepares, cooks, bakes, assembles, and decorates pastries for sale and to keep as back-stock
- communicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Bakery Manager
