Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • five or more years of experience as working pastry chef or baker in a high-volume upscale hotel or restaurant operation
  • knowledge of high-quality pastry and dessert preparation and presentation
  • understanding of bakery products, ingredients, equipment, and techniques
  • physical ability to perform job duties including standing, bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds
  • availability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • five or more years as a working pastry chef or baker in a high-volume upscale hotel or freestanding restaurant with banquet facilities
  • exceptional knowledge of high-quality, upscale pastry and dessert preparation and presentation
  • thorough knowledge of bakery products, ingredients, equipment, and techniques
  • ability to create artistically and aesthetically appealing pastries and desserts
  • ability to stand, bend, and stoop repetitively for entire shift
  • able to lift and carry 50 pounds
  • ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Combine raw ingredients according to standardized recipes to produce baked goods
  • decorate baked items using fruits, candies, sauces, and confectionery products
  • plate and present desserts artistically and aesthetically
  • collaborate with Food and Beverage Director and Banquet, Catering, and Restaurant Managers to develop new desserts
  • review Banquet Event Orders and F&B forecasts to estimate demand
  • order necessary bulk ingredients to meet demand
  • inspect received ingredients for quality and freshness
  • store ingredients properly following food safety standards
  • follow sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination and foodborne illness
  • rotate stored goods to minimize waste and ensure freshness
  • safely use mixing and baking equipment according to manufacturer recommendations
  • maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment
  • report equipment malfunctions and safety or sanitation problems
  • promote teamwork and effective communication
  • comply with hotel standards, safety regulations, and uniform and grooming standards
