Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
  • certification of culinary training or apprenticeship
  • 3-5 years experience as a pastry cook at a 4 or 5 star hotel or restaurant
  • food handling certificate
  • flexible and long hours sometimes required
  • ability to stand during an entire shift
  • exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object
  • knowledge of Latin and Asian cuisine a plus
  • proficiency in English and Spanish preferred

Job Duties

  • prepare, cook, garnish, and present desserts
  • check quality of pastry products
  • inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure company standards
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry kitchen
  • collaborate with the Head Pastry Chef to develop new dessert recipes
  • ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
  • manage inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies
