Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in restaurant and pastry or culinary education with at least 3 years experience in restaurant and pastry
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and effectively
  • Ability to compose effective recipes
  • Effective communication skills with guests, managers and team members
  • Ability to convert recipes into larger and smaller batches
  • Thorough understanding of weights, measures and conversion of both
  • Ability to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and company goals
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for entire shifts
  • Ability to bend, stoop and reach frequently
  • Ability to operate company vehicle or golf cart safely

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Cleanliness and organization of bakeshop
  • Communication and ordering of all pastry specific supplies and equipment
  • Proper rotation and monitoring of raw and finished products
  • Overseeing all production of breakfast pastries, breads, lunch and dinner desserts
  • Management of production schedule
  • Management of staff work schedule
  • Full creative responsibility in menu development under guidance from Executive Chef
  • Representing Blackberry Mountain in cooking schools, public events and media situations
  • Coordination with Executive Chef of daily needs of restaurant operation especially pertaining to bakeshop
  • Training of all pastry team members and other kitchen staff where necessary
  • Overseeing pastry employee tier systems and reviews
  • Maintaining current seasonal dessert rotation
  • Recipe costing
