Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • one year of bakery experience preferred
  • current food handler’s permit required
  • ability to prepare, cook, bake, assemble, and decorate pastries
  • ability to maintain inventory levels and confirm pricing accuracy
  • availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • ability to comply with sanitation and cleanliness standards
  • strong communication and organizational skills
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • capacity to work in various physical conditions including heat and cold

Job Qualifications

  • a high school diploma or GED preferred
  • one year of bakery experience preferred
  • current food handler’s permit
  • experience preparing pastries quickly and efficiently with quality professional results
  • ability to read and follow a recipe
  • basic math skills used to half or double recipes
  • enjoys working with, handling, and eating cake and pastry products
  • knowledge of mixing, cooking, baking, and assembling procedures and times for pastries
  • ability to interpret policies and procedures
  • excellent organization and planning skills
  • must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills
  • must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one’s own success as well as the success of the team
  • required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and techniques
  • must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons’ mission and commitment to working collaboratively

Job Duties

  • must be available weekends and holidays
  • follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the bakery provides
  • responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the bakery
  • confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
  • ensures the bakery is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
  • delivers excellent customer service to all customers
  • follows production sheets to ensure appropriate inventory levels of Harmons’ pastries
  • ensures the correct amount of ingredients and supplies are in stock
  • prepares, cooks, bakes, assembles, and decorates pastries for sale and to keep as back-stock
  • communicates openly and frequently with Store Director and Bakery Manager
