Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience in a similar or supportive role
  • 2 or 4-year degree in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management preferred
  • Food Handler Certificate if applicable
  • Ability to coordinate and lead a team while managing multiple priorities
  • Ability to learn and present product, menu, and allergy information
  • Knowledge of financial and business metrics and their impact on restaurant operations
  • Advanced and adaptable knowledge of culinary arts, pastry, banquet, and people management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, restaurant POS system, inventory management, procurement software, payroll and timekeeping software
  • Flexible schedule with availability for weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays
  • Familiarity with health, OSHA, and Department of Labor regulations as they pertain to kitchen and restaurant employees

  • Advanced knowledge of culinary arts, pastry, banquet, and people management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, restaurant POS, inventory management, procurement, payroll and timekeeping software
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, mornings, and holidays
  • Familiarity with health, OSHA, and Department of Labor regulations applicable to kitchen and restaurant employees

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise all pastry and bakery items
  • Provide quality control on taste and presentation
  • Supervise training and cross-training of staff and assign duties
  • Build and maintain sound working relationships with staff and other departments
  • Review banquet function sheets daily for adequate pastry preparation
  • Report maintenance or repairs needed to supervisors
  • Regularly review recipes for maximum profitability
  • Verify food and beverage requisitions and special requests with Executive Chef
  • Ensure adequate sanitation practices
  • Make menu recommendations and develop daily specials
  • Introduce special pastries and test new items
  • Demonstrate commitment to total quality efforts and teamwork
