Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in baking bread and pastries
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately
  • Physical stamina to stand for at least 8 hours with frequent bending and squatting
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds regularly throughout shift
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and during peak hotel activity
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and hotel teams

Job Duties

  • Make, shape, proof and bake all bread for Herons lunch, dinner, and brunch menus
  • Laminate and shape croissants
  • Bake different bread types, like pretzels, baguettes, and multigrain breads
  • Make and bake all breakfast and brunch mixes, including muffin mixes, biscuits, and scones
  • Organize and inventory all bread items, including doughs, shaped breads, and mixes
  • Assist in creating new breads per menu cycle with the Pastry Chef
  • Maintain professional relations with associates, treating with respect and holding accountable to Pastry Kitchen and Hotel standards
  • Demonstrate open communication between pastry kitchen and other hotel outlets, including front of house, banquet team, and front office
  • Instill a calm, organized approach in all situations or conflicts
  • Assist in creating a drive of daily passion for excellence and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and when hotel activity is at its highest
