Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Less than one year of experience in baking or pastry-making
  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods
  • Capability to lift and handle loads up to 25 lbs unaided
  • Willingness to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate bakery tools and machinery safely
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Possession of a high school diploma or its GED equivalent
  • Less than a year of specific experience in baking, pastry-making, or working in a kitchen environment
  • No licenses or certifications required
  • No supervisory experience required

Job Duties

  • Create and bake pastries, breads, desserts, and similar items in accordance with established recipes and presentation criteria
  • Prepare, portion, blend, and organize the elements required for the daily baking procedures
  • Maintain and operate baking tools and machinery in a secure and efficient manner
  • Keep an eye on ovens and kitchen machinery to ensure the precise cooking periods and heat settings are maintained
  • Abide by rules related to food safety and sanitation practices, including the correct storage of food items, personal hygiene practices, and the cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Arrange and disassemble workstation as per kitchen standards
  • Ensure that there is uniformity in the quality and consistency of food across all batches produced in the shift
  • Uphold cleanliness, safety, and organization within the bakery/kitchen setting to create a secure and efficient work atmosphere
  • Engage in professional communication with team members and guests as the situation demands
  • Support team members and actively participate in promoting a positive group dynamic
  • Execute further obligations and roles as instructed by those in charge
