Job Requirements
- must have and maintain an active management level food handler's certification (ServSafe)
- adhere to local food handler requirements
- maintain punctuality and attendance
- perform all duties responsibly and efficiently
- able to collaborate with other teams and work flexible schedules occasionally
- authorized to work in the U.S.
Job Qualifications
- culinary degree preferred but not required
- 1-2 years of experience in high volume baking production or comparable experience
- baking experience essential
- moderate kitchen skills and etiquette
- strong communication, time, resource management, and planning skills
- attention to detail
- basic math skills
- ability to solve problems independently or with management
- professional appearance
Job Duties
- prepares, bakes, cooks, and serves various pastries, cookies and breads
- accommodates special needs of the guests by preparing nut free, gluten free and vegan varieties
- measures and combines ingredients using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment
- collaborates on menu ideas
- manages recurring inventories
- supports the ordering process by supplying pastry specific needs
- supplies ingredients to café admin for food cards and menus
- ensures food cards and menus are accurate and complete
- is responsible for food quality and production
- checks quantities of desserts displayed and replenishes as necessary
- uses carts to transport dry, wet, and finished products
- follows safety and sanitation procedures per OSHA and Department of Public Health
- decorates and displays finished products
- tracks and documents sanitation, time and temperature holding, and task completion
- engages positively with guests to improve customer experience
- understands menu allergens and dietary restrictions
- participates in teamwork
- performs tasting to ensure quality control
- delivers baked goods to other locations as needed
- performs other assigned duties
