Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3-4 years of baking experience
  • Ability to move throughout the café and kitchen
  • ServSafe certification preferred
  • Ability to stand a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Pass a background check
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Ability to handle physical demands including lifting 50 pounds
  • Good hygiene and clean professional appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree preferred but not required
  • ServSafe certified preferred
  • 3-4 years minimum experience in baking
  • Good HACCP knowledge

Job Duties

  • Prepares, bakes, cooks, and serves various pastries, cookies, and breads
  • Makes all types of desserts including sweet and savory breads, cakes, pies, torts, custards, granolas, cookies, pate a choux, cheesecakes, bars, and some vegan desserts
  • Writes menus for an array of world cuisine
  • Responsible for food quality and presentation
  • Reviews production schedules to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake and assemble supplies and equipment needed
  • Shapes dough for cookies, pies, and pastries by hand or using tools
  • Cleans and maintains work areas, utensils, and equipment
