Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of pastry production experience in a quality restaurant or hotel
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to assist in multiple kitchen tasks
  • Commitment to high standards of food safety and cleanliness

Job Qualifications

  • 3 years' experience in a quality restaurant or hotel experience in pastry production
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Developed English skills both written and orally

Job Duties

  • Assist the Pastry Chef or Sous Chefs concerning special orders of pastry items such as specialty cakes or other items for special events, as well as assisting in other kitchen tasks as time permits
  • Assist Chefs in events that require pastry assistance, such as a large party or special event
  • Keeping the Pastry station stocked with all necessary items for daily production and ensuring quality and freshness of items
  • Ensure consistent and timely production and plating of a la carte desserts and Afternoon Tea items with special attention to standards for quality and presentation
  • Training of at least one other individual in the preparation and presentation of the entire dessert menu
