Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in pastry production and baking
  • Experience working with chocolate and sugar artistry
  • Ability to supervise and lead a team
  • Willingness to work full time Monday through Friday, 5:00 am to 2:00 pm
  • Ability to comply with food safety standards
  • Capability to manage inventory and food costs effectively
  • Strong communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience with pastries, baking, creating, and working with chocolate and sugar
  • Experience supervising kitchen or bakery staff
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to plan and execute seasonal dessert menus
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain high quality and consistency in baked products

Job Duties

  • Supervises the daily production and distribution of all pastries, desserts and baked goods
  • Ensures recipes and standards are followed, food costs are controlled and appropriate quantity is prepared based on established production needs
  • Ensures proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • Monitors and controls the maintenance and sanitation of the pastry kitchen and equipment to ensure a work environment that meets or exceeds federal, state and corporate standards and regulations
  • Supervises hourly kitchen/pastry associates, including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participating in reviews and recommending disciplinary action, as appropriate
  • Helps plan and implement seasonal menus
  • Orders and maintains pastry supplies and products to ensure appropriate inventory levels
  • Performs other duties as assigned
