The Missoula County Airport Authority proudly owns and operates the Missoula Montana Airport (MSO), an essential air transportation hub that serves the western area of Montana. With a population of approximately 175,256 residents, this airport provides critical commercial passenger services currently facilitated by major carriers including Alaska, American, United, Delta, Allegiant, Frontier, and Sun Country Airlines. Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent preferred
- No prior experience required but customer service experience is favored
- Must be at least 16 years old to apply, preferably 18 or older
- Must have a valid Montana driver’s license
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Flexibility to work additional hours on short notice
- Must commit to working at least 3 days a week
- Must complete FBI criminal history records check and TSA security threat assessment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent preferred
- Customer service experience preferred
- Ability to operate ground service equipment safely
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Skill in the use of personal computers and related software
- Ability to type at least 25 words per minute
- Basic mathematics skills
- Ability to read, write, and fluently speak English
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, nights, and holidays
- Valid Montana driver's license
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 99 pounds
- Ability to work in a high noise environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, climbing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and crawling
Job Duties
- Work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
- Load, unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage on the ramp
- Guide incoming and outgoing aircraft to ensure that they are entering or leaving their gate safely and on time
- Drive ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and bag carts
- Collaborate with the internal team to ensure a safe and on-time departure
- Perform aircraft grooming and servicing
- Engage in proper cockpit communication during push-pull functions
- De-ice aircraft at heights of up to 80 feet
- Create a positive start to a passenger’s trip by greeting and assisting with check-in and ticketing
- Use reservation/ticketing software to rebook itineraries and issue boarding passes
- Inform passengers about their trips and belongings
- Listen to and resolve passenger issues in a timely and friendly manner
- Complete forms and messages related to cargo handling
- Perform daily checks on ground service equipment
- Assist customers with baggage and wheelchair assistance
- Follow company uniform and grooming standards
- Participate in continuous training
