Job Requirements
- Must be a US citizen or possess necessary authorization from the immigration and naturalization service
- Must have a reliable telephone and transportation
- Must be able to lift, carry, and/or hold up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to stoop, squat, push, stand, and/or bend throughout the shift
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must complete a criminal background check
- Must meet requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
- Must treat all information as confidential
- Must possess tact to deal with clients, representatives, employees, and the public
- Must be attired in proper uniform or business attire with identification visible
- Must comply with all safety requirements including use of trained equipment, reporting unsafe conditions and injuries, wearing proper PPE, and attending safety training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous airport and/or customer service experience preferred
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions in English
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work from verbal and written instructions
- Familiarity with government, client, airport, and company regulations
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Job Duties
- Provide special assistance to passengers as requested
- Provide general information and directions to passengers
- Meet inbound arrivals as requested to provide special services such as courtesy chairs and walk assistance through the terminal
- Check equipment thoroughly before use including wheels, locks, seats, back and footrests
- Lock wheels when assisting passengers in/out of courtesy chair
- Always use both hands when pushing courtesy chairs
- Always back chairs down inclines
- Request assistance from another employee when transferring passengers who cannot transfer themselves
- Never take a courtesy chair up/down stairways or escalators
- Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner
- Handle people’s property carefully, including mobility aids and luggage
- Be familiar with all government, client, airport, and company regulations
- Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems, maintain cleanliness of the work area, and report maintenance needs
- Project a positive image and respond courteously to airlines, staff, and public inquiries
- Attend meetings and in-service training as required
- Utilize appropriate communication channels and maintain records, reports, and files
- Dress in proper uniform or business attire with identification visible
- Adhere to company policies and participate in company objectives
- Use company and client equipment and resources conscientiously and cost-effectively
- Perform other duties as requested
