Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- must be 18 years of age or older
- previous airport or customer service experience preferred
- reliable telephone and transportation
- ability to treat information as confidential
- tact in dealing with a variety of individuals
- proficiency in reading and understanding English instructions
- capability to follow verbal and written instructions
- good communication skills in English
- physical ability to perform job tasks including heavy lifting
- successful completion of drug testing
- clearance of background check
- ability to obtain security sensitive identification badge
- citizenship or legal authorization to work in the US
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous airport or customer service experience preferred
- must be 18 years of age or older
- must have a reliable telephone and transportation
- treat all information as confidential
- possess tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees, and the public
- able to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
- able to work from verbal and written instructions
- able to communicate in English clearly and concisely verbally and in written form
- able to lift, stoop, squat, push, stand, or bend throughout the shift
- able to lift, carry, and hold up to 75 lbs
- must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- must complete a criminal background check
- must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
- must be a US citizen or have necessary authorization from the immigration and naturalization service
Job Duties
- Provide special assistance to passengers as requested
- provide general information and directions to passengers
- meet inbound arrivals as requested to provide special services such as courtesy chairs and walk assistance through the terminal
- check equipment thoroughly before use including wheels, locks, seats, back and footrests
- lock wheels when assisting passengers in and out of courtesy chair
- always use both hands when pushing courtesy chairs
- always back chairs down inclines
- request assistance from another employee when transferring passengers who cannot transfer themselves
- never take a courtesy chair up or down a stairway or escalator
- complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner
- be neat and careful when handling other people's property, especially mobility aids and luggage
- be familiar with all government, client, airport, and company regulations
- keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas
- maintain cleanliness of immediate work area and report maintenance needs
- project a positive image and respond to inquiries from airlines, staff, and the public courteously
- attend meetings and in-services as required
- utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports, and files as required
- be attired in proper uniform or business attire with identification always visible
- adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in the achievement of company objectives
- utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources conscientiously and cost-effectively
- perform other duties as requested
- comply with all safety requirements including training on equipment, reporting unsafe conditions and workplace injuries, wearing proper PPE, and attending required safety training
