Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up processes
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning (Bakery)
- assists in baking, frying, and decorating (Bakery)
- culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates (Bakery)
- takes care of service counter customers (Deli)
- uses ordering system applications (Deli)
- uses Fresh Production Planner (Deli)
- performs inventory management processes (Deli)
- ensures catering orders are prepared and ready for pickup if applicable (Deli)
- performs all sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers (Deli)
- serves and packages products at customer request (Prepared Foods)
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions (Prepared Foods)
- prepackages condiments for prepared food items (Prepared Foods)
- cuts, slices, dices, and prepares food for chefs (Prepared Foods)
