Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation
- completion of food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to use computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, label machine
- strong customer service skills

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink
- takes care of service counter customers
- uses ordering system applications
- performs inventory management processes
- ensures catering orders are prepared and ready for pickup
- performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- serves and packages products at customer request
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- prepackages condiments
- cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
