Job Requirements

  • must be ServSafe Manager certified
  • must have an associate degree from a nationally or regionally accredited culinary arts program
  • must have three years of verifiable success as an executive chef
  • must have three years of instructional experience at an accredited culinary arts program certified by the American Culinary Federation
  • willingness to work split teaching shifts between campus locations
  • ability to organize and manage large culinary events
  • ability to comply with safety and security requirements
  • must pass a criminal background check
  • male applicants between 18 and 26 must present proof of Selective Service Registration

Job Qualifications

  • ServSafe Manager certification
  • associate degree from a nationally or regionally accredited culinary arts program
  • three years of verifiable success as an Executive Chef
  • three years of instructional experience at an accredited culinary arts program certified by the American Culinary Federation
  • bachelor’s degree or master’s in education or related field preferred
  • extensive coursework in curriculum development and design preferred
  • strong knowledge in baking, pastry, and Garde Manger preferred

Job Duties

  • Preparing lesson plans for classroom instruction
  • developing program syllabi, goals and objectives
  • evaluating students' progress in attaining goals and objectives
  • maintaining program certification requirements as appropriate
  • preparing and maintaining all required documentation and administrative reports
  • maintaining knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences
  • ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the training area
  • meeting with students, staff members, and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of students
  • working diligently to maximize student placements in this field or related fields
  • organizing and managing culinary events of up to 500 people for the college and the general public
