Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of custodial or janitorial experience preferred
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
- Capability to use various cleaning equipment
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to write concise maintenance work orders
- Physical capability to bend, twist, squat, crawl, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 1 year professional custodial or janitorial experience highly preferred
- Ability to fluently read, write, and speak English
- Experience using automatic and power cleaning equipment
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods
- Ability to write short work orders describing maintenance problems
- Physical ability to bend, twist, squat, crawl, and climb
- Ability to lift up to 50 lb mop buckets and boxes
- Valid Minnesota Driver’s License
Job Duties
- Perform routine cleaning including dusting, vacuuming, and disinfecting surfaces
- Collect and haul trash and recyclable materials
- Maintain hard-surfaced and carpeted floors
- Clean restrooms, shower rooms, elevator interiors, and pits
- Remove snow using shovels and power snow blowers
- Strip and refinish floors
- Replace light bulbs
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance
- Submit work orders for repairs
- Maintain adequate supply stock and complete order requests
- Ensure security of assigned keys and manage building lock-up and unlocking
- Train and coordinate Facilities Services student employees
