The Tempe Tutoring Department seeks a conscientious, part-time front desk receptionist to serve as the initial point of contact for students, faculty, and visitors. This temporary, part-time role offers an hourly wage ranging between $14.70 and $22.00 per hour, depending on experience, and does not include employee benefits. Scheduled for evenings and weekends from Monday to Saturday, this position demands a physical presence on campus and involves roughly 5 to 19.5 hours per week. The receptionist will provide essential support by managing communications via email and telephone, scheduling tutoring appointments, and aiding students in connecting with tutors both in-person and online. This role also encompasses offering basic technological assistance with logging into virtual meeting platforms and other academic resources. Additionally, the receptionist is tasked with helping maintain the tutoring area in an organized and clean condition, facilitating project assistance, and performing routine office tasks such as filing and data entry. With a strong emphasis on customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills, this position is vital for enhancing the students' academic experience and supporting the broader goals of the college's tutoring services.

Job Duties

  • Provide service support for the Tutoring Department
  • greet students, staff, faculty, and guests
  • answer emails, phone calls, and schedule tutoring appointments
  • check-in/out students
  • organize data for review and maintain accurate records
  • provide basic technology support
  • assist students and staff with logging into lab computers and virtual meetings
  • navigate RioLearn and LMS platforms
  • provide academic support by directing students to appropriate resources
  • attend department meetings and training
  • maintain tutoring area clean and organized
  • create IT tickets for technical issues
  • perform other related duties as assigned
