Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
- Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving
- Ability to place product weighing up to 45 pounds on shelving at various heights
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk about the store regularly
- Ability to comply with company policies related to cash handling and sales processes
Job Qualifications
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Effective time management
- Knowledge of products and services of the company
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately (for cashier position)
- Compliance with state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages (for cashier position)
- Ability to operate equipment safely and properly including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler (for stocker position)
- Availability to work morning shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m. (for stocker position)
Job Duties
- Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader
- Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility
- Performs duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Processes customer purchases and operates cash registers efficiently
- Provides exceptional customer service and assists customers with their shopping experience
- Stocks shelves and merchandise displays neatly following merchandising planograms
- Participates in store inventory counts and monitors inventory for accuracy
- Adheres to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses
- Organizes new inventory, removes and breaks down empty boxes
- Operates machinery safely and follows all safety procedures
- Maintains store cleanliness and appearance
- Provides feedback to management on products, inventory losses, and scanning errors
