Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior work experience in a retail environment preferred
- A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge
- Ability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry, and walk within the store regularly
- Ability to stock merchandise weighing up to 45 pounds at various heights (Stocker)
Job Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
- Ability to perform general cleaning duties to company standards
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment
- Effective time management skills
- Knowledge of products and services of the company
- Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Comply with state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages (Cashier)
- Ability to operate equipment safely and properly including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler (Stocker)
- Morning availability to work shifts starting as early as 5:00 a.m. (Stocker)
Job Duties
- Collaborates with team members and communicates relevant information to direct leader
- Upholds the security and confidentiality of documents and data within area of responsibility
- Performs cashier duties including processing customer purchases and maintaining cleanliness
- Provides exceptional customer service and assists customers with their shopping experience
- Provides feedback to management on products, inventory losses, scanning errors, and general issues
- Participates in store inventory counts and monitors inventory accuracy
- Adheres to cash policies and procedures to minimize losses
- Stocks shelves and rotates product properly
- Follows merchandising planograms to create well-merchandised displays
- Organizes new inventory and breaks down empty boxes
- Operates machinery safely and follows safety procedures
