Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- related experience and/or advanced training or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to read, write, and understand English
- ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- basic math skills
- proficiency in using computers and food service equipment
- ability to multitask, prioritize work, and pay attention to detail
- ability to talk and hear effectively
- physical ability to operate food service and office equipment
- ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- ability to lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds
- compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local laws
- ability to pass background check
- Food Handler certificate from County of San Diego preferred

Job Duties
- Welcomes and connects with every customer to provide excellent customer service
- discover customer needs and appropriately suggest products with every customer to enhance service and meet sales goals
- assists customers in the selection and purchase of specialty coffee beverages and whole bean sales if applicable
- responds to customers' needs and says thank you to every customer
- demonstrates 'just say yes' behavior when taking care of customer needs
- maintains quality store operations
- prepares a variety of customer beverage orders such as espresso drinks and coffee of the week to Starbucks standards
- follows store policies and procedures for operational flow at each station
- performs cleaning tasks in accordance with the duty rosters and cleaning standards and works as a team player
- presents oneself professionally and demonstrates clear communication by using star skills with all customer and partner interactions
- follow standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products
- performs equipment maintenance in accordance with preventive maintenance checklist
- follows cash handling and register procedures
- follows inventory stocking and recording guidelines
- learns and demonstrates creating the Starbucks Experience
- learns and demonstrates all performance standards by completing initial store training and passing barista certification with a score of 90% or better
- learns seasonal Starbucks promotional drinks and merchandise
- must comply with and ensure continued, consistent compliance with all company policies, and federal, state, and local laws/regulations including but not limited to: employment, safety, and health
- other duties as assigned
