Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in related fields preferred such as Hospitality, Marketing, Public Relations, Event Planning
  • Two years of work experience in event production, community engagement, project management, or event planning
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational, customer service, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and dedication to working with youth, families, and community members
  • Competency in MS Office applications
  • Must possess genuine care and concern for youth, especially pre-teens and teens
  • Able to communicate effectively with youth, co-workers, stakeholders and families respectfully and with cultural competence
  • Enjoy working with teams and independently
  • Demonstrates strong accuracy in all work areas
  • Basic computer literacy including Microsoft Office and internet use
  • Ability to learn and utilize software systems

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients to execute safe, joyful and engaging events
  • Design, coordinate and execute logistics and run of show for organization-wide events such as staff events, field days, conferences, seasonal celebrations
  • Manage the event and space request process including organizational SharePoint calendar, electronic forms, and client communication
  • Work collaboratively with all building users including program staff, building partners, facilities, IT, and others
  • Assist with external promotion of events with outreach team support
  • Act as point person and liaison to all partners and vendors for GCYC hosted events
  • Manage room layouts, decor, and supply needs
  • Maintain inventory of event AV equipment, decorations, signage, and supplies
  • Coordinate with Culinary Arts department to support and promote GCYC's catering business with external users
  • Manage billing processes with clients including executing contracts and MOUs
  • Attend required staff meetings and trainings
  • Support the mission of GCYC by working collaboratively in a team, serving the needs of youth
  • Commit to the safety and development of all GCYC members
  • Take on other duties as needed
  • Serve as a role model for youth and community
  • Abide by employee handbook and established GCYC policies and procedures
