Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous banquet serving experience preferred
- excellent communication skills
- ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
- capable of carrying up to 40 lbs
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a banquet server in a similar upscale dining or banquet facility is preferred
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- attention to detail and a strong commitment to providing outstanding guest experiences
- a positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
- must be able to stand, walk and carry trays for extended periods
Job Duties
- Greet guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor
- assist guests with seating arrangements and provide information about the event and menu options as needed
- ensure that all guest requests and special dietary needs are met promptly and accurately
- assist in the setup and breakdown of private event rooms including arranging tables, chairs, linens, and table settings according to event specifications
- ensure the banquet area is clean, organized and presentable at all times
- prepare and arrange necessary utensils, glassware and tableware
- serve food and beverages to guests according to established standards and procedures
- maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients and preparation methods
- anticipate guests’ needs with a proactive attitude
- offer suggestions and recommendations based on guests’ preferences
- collaborate with other event servers, kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure seamless service
- communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently
- monitor and anticipate guest needs during events such as refilling drinks and clearing empty plates
- ensure tables are properly set and maintained throughout the event
- handle special requests or accommodations with care and professionalism
- adhere to all safety and sanitation guidelines
- follow responsible alcohol service policies and practices
